HOOP Study Visit & Biowaste Club in Porto

LIPOR is the entity responsible for treating the waste of 1M inhabitants from 8 municipalities of Greater Porto. In this Study Visit, you will learn about its experience and strategy for biowaste management, innovation, and communication. You will also have an opportunity to visit its Tunnel Composting Plant, its Environmental Education Centre (Horta da Formiga), and its leisure park, created in a former landfill (Parque Aventura).

In the afternoon, the Biowaste Club (BWC) will aim to involve stakeholders across the biowaste value chain in discussing the topic “Biowaste to bioproducts”. The event will comprise the presentation of insights and case studies by the HOOP partners CETAQUA, CSCP, AWM (Munster), and Murcia. Also, it will comprise a group dynamic involving the participants.

Both the Study Visit to LIPOR facilities and the BWC are open to members of the HOOP Network of Cities & Regions, and travel costs can be reimbursed for a limited number of attendees. For more information please contact Serena Lisai (ACR+).
